HISTORY
OF THE RZ 350 LC IN THE USA
|
![]() |
The first RD350LC was not sold in the USA because: "YAMAHA has product devlopment Managers in Europe, Japan, the USA and other major markets so that customers inindividual countries get the best possible motorcycle for their particular needs. This is why, for example, the liquidcooled RD two-strokes are made primarily for the more sporting European riders and not sold in the USA".
To be sold in
the US, the RZ350 must be catalysed to comply with standard emissions laws etablished
by the EPA: Environmental Protection Agency.
This explain that the RZ was only available 2 years in the US and 1 year later
to the rest of the world...
The NC & NC2 ("C" like California) models have a third catalytic element
in pipes, a internal venting of the gas tank by carbon cannister (wich reduce
the fuel tank capacity) because emissions laws are different in California.
This bike was the
last street legal 2 stroke bike in the USA; it's because the RZ350 is still
very popular !
